Lewes Exhibition Update

On 29th March of this year there was a serious fire in the Phoenix House Arts Centre next door to the Foundry Gallery in Lewes.

The Gallery has not been seriously damaged and it may still be possible to house the exhibition  in this gallery but, in the meantime, the exhibition is now planned to launch and take place in Lewes House in the centre of Lewes (by kind permission of Lewes Town Council).

If the Foundry Gallery gets the go ahead from the surveyor then the exhibition will be housed in both galleries. The advice then is to go to Lewes House on your arrival in Lewes, see the exhibition there and then, enquire about the Foundry Gallery. Lewes House opens at 10am each Wednesday to Saturday, the Foundry Gallery opens at noon.

The launch on Friday 9th May at 6pm will be in Lewes House, High Street, Lewes, BN7 2LX

Stanley Simmonds on view in Central Brighton

A range of Stanley Simmonds paintings are on show in the Members' Room at www.officreche.com. The co-working space has been recently revamped by the stylist Leesa Whisker (http://www.whiskeragency.co.uk) - she's the one mimicing Cynthia Simmonds' pose beneath her portrait in the photograph below?!

The images of the gorgeous space were taken by the photographer Mi Elfverson (www.truenorthphoto.co.uk). Elizabeth Moody-Stuart, the director of Officrèche, is married to Ben Simmonds, a grand-nephew of Stanley Simmonds. Please contact her directly on 07957 555125 for a viewing of the works.
